Shirley A. Gilpin married to Charles H. Gilpin. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. We were married in California. We have done little research except for some info from the internet and some info from a Harold Rae Gilpin who went to Kendall and researched in the library and visited the Gilpin castle. We also have a copy of a newspaper clipping from a Philadelphia paper circa 1885, the original kept by Marie Gilpin and the copy sent to us by a George H. Gilpin, along with a handwritten document tracing the Gilpins back as far as Richard de Guylpin, 1176. Our documents say that the name was spelled this way and changed several times.
