The Bass or Basse Lineage in America has numerous twists and turns and has touched hundreds of thousands of family connections across the country. From France and England in the early 1500's right up to tomorrow the Bass Famiy continues to expand its branches and add it's genetic stamp.
Colorful people and warm stories nailed together with heart wrenching tales even before the the founding of our county.
I am a decendant of Wilson Bass who was born in West Central Georgia in the late 1700's then migrated to South Alabama in about 1808 to settle near today's city of Andalusia. Most of the initial data collected came from the memories and scraps of paper and the retelling of stories of those no longer here to share with us.
So much of our history is yet to be unearthed from those who are still here and can contribute to it . My quest is to find those fanily members and capture not just the names and dates, but the essence of the people and their times. Get it from them now, before they are gone too and we loose their first hand knowledge. This is A quest to provide meaningful connection and history for the great great grandchildren and beyond. My last name is Gindlesperger, and I am proud of that. But, I am also none the less.....a Bass.
