I have been collecting information on branches of the Hughes and Ing families living in western Kentucky and Tennessee for over twenty five years. My father was a Hughes and my mother's maiden name was Ing. The information here came to me in a variety of ways. Early on I spoke with many older family members who are now gone. The information they provided is as accurate as their memories were at the time. I have also done a lot of research in libraries, state archives, and court houses. I have scanned hundreds of pages of microfilm and wandered through many old cemeteries. In recent years I have taken a lot of facts and information off the Internet, trusting the integrity of my fellow genealogists.
