Family surnames are Jones, Burnham, Seeger, Rosentreader, Wholstenholm, Morgan, Smith, Collins, Thomas, Kent, Emerick, and Payne. These surnames have appeared in Wales, Canada, England, Germany, New York, Nebraska, Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Missouri, and California.
Currently researching local Plumas County, California history for the Jones and Burnham families. They had ranches in the Beckwourth/Sierra Valley areas and owned a home in Quincy which are all in Plumas County. They were also miners, owning the Sunnyside Mine (gold) and the Blue Nose Quartz Mine. Land patents have been located in both Plumas & Sierra counties. A large portion of the information gathered so far came from biographical/historical records. Jones is a common name and very difficult to research so any information that might be of assistance is welcome.
