LAKELAND -- Mr. Harold A. Smith of Lakeland died of complications of emphysema Monday (May 24, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 71.
Born in Madison, Wis., on June 15, 1932, he came to Lakeland from there 10 and a half years ago. He was a supervisor for Oscar Mayer Co. where he was employed for 38 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sharon Smith; son, Timm Smith, Stoughten, Wis.; daughters, Tricia Pounders, Madison, Pam SmithKelsang Dechen, Portland, Ore., Linda Stein, Lakeland; sisters, Alberta Holzhuter, Lakeland, Judy Harris, Madison; 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 745 Ingraham Ave., Lakeland.
