Notes for John Obrecht: John was a storekeeper at Mazomanie, WI at the time of his marriage to Emma Neefe in 1873. Submitter: VERA CARPENTER Subject: Re: Obrecht, Albrecht, Molsberry,Kelsh,Holmes Message: Jean, Emma Amelia Neefe's first husband was a distant relative of mine, here's what I have on them.
Johann Obrecht, b: abt. 1847, Switzerland. I didn't have his death year, but it must have been after the 1880 Census. They were listed on the 1880 Berry Twp., Dane Co., WI. census. So, he must have died in Berry Twp. Emma Amelia Neefe, b: abt 1852, Richland Co., Wisconsin. They married 5-24-1873, Cottage Grove, Dane Co., Wisconsin. Hally Obrecht, b: abt 1875, Cottage Grove, Dane Co., WI.
Leonora Christina, b: 3-20-1878, Cottage Grove. She married on 7-4-1894, Prairie du Chien, Crawford Co., WI to Charles Molsberry, b: 9-2-1867, Plymouth, Iowa.
Julius Obrecht, b: April 1880, Berry Twp., Dane Co., WI.
Then Amelia married Adolph C. Neefe, b: Condersport, PA. on 9-27-1882, Methodist Episcopalian Church, Madison, Dane Co., WI.
I think Adolph was a distant cousin of hers. I haven't done any research yet to see if they had children. Albrecht is a totally different name, many of the Obrecht's did change their name to Obright. Especially Johann's brother Jacob's offspring. Johann's nephew Johann married my 2nd cousin twice removed. Her name was Wilhelmina (Minnie) Beitz.
