Family traced back to the Althorpe, Belton area of the Isle of Axholme, north Lincolnshire, in the 17th & 18th centuries. Post 1800 my branch of the family left the isle for Hull and Leeds.

Jeffrey (b 1673 Belton), Samuel (b 1704 Luddington), Nevil (b Althorpe), Robert (b 1767 Althorpe), Thomas (b 1799 Althorpe), William (b 1830 Leeds)are some of the associated names, along with occupations of brickmaker, keelman and agricultural labourer.
