I have recently begun my research of my family's ancestory. So far, I have gotten as far as my great-grandparents on my father's side. However, I also know that my family has been traced as far back as 1802 to Jesse and Judith (Johnson) Brooks in North Carolina. They had nine children and they were:

Matthew Brooks born March 9, 1808 married to Rhoda Veal April 18, 1833
Cecelia Brooks born July 18, 1810 married to Solomon Mendenhall December 10, 1837
Elizabeth Brooks born January 7, 1812 married to John M. Dean October 10, 1833
Charity Brooks born February 7, 1814 married to John Aaron Locke August 24, 1837
Jesse Warresh Brooks born August 14, 1816 married to Sarah Mendehall in ???
married to Phebe (Engle) Stephenson December 8, 1872
married to Rachel (Coffin) Cook November 18, 1879
