I am more or less a beginner in genealogy. Through a family bible I have been able to trace my ancestors back to Andrew Goff, born in 1754 in Holston, VA and married to Grace Gordon Williams, born in 1757 in Holston VA. They had ten children. My ancestor from this marriage was Isaac Shelby Goff, born May 21, 1798 in Tenneesee. Then his son William Denson Goff born January 6, 1823 in Maury County, Tennesee, his son William Duncan Goff born December 2, 1849 in Green Lake, Calhoun County, TX, his son Edward Alexander Goff born March 12, 1578 in Dallas, TX, who was my father.
I have been unable to get further back than Andrew. I could use some help on this.
My mother was Rebecca Elizabeth Willy descended from John Brown Willy and his son Robert Fulton Willy, my mother's father, who was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi in 1852. Her mother was Mary Elizabeth Collins who was born in 1857 at Bailey's Prairie, TX. Her father was Dr. Richard Montgomery Collins, birth date unknown, birth place New York City. He died October 9, 1875 in Tuxpan, Vera Cruz, Mexico. He was married to Rebecca Ann Spann, birth place and birth date unknown. She died March 3, 1894.
