I have just recently begun my genealogy research. I hope to uncover the date and location of the KY reunion for 2001 and begin to attend. My dad, Dewey (aka Frank) Goins, settled in East Tennessee and most his siblings and their families lived in Indiana and Kentucky. So we were out of touch. I only met my dad's family at an occasional funeral and I was too young to be curious or interested in knowing my cousins. Now I am nearly consumed with it!
Since my dad was 55 years old when I was born, I believe that most of my cousins will be about 10-20 years older than I am. I am 47 now. I have already met (on line and phone) a grandson of my dad's sister, Margaret (Maggie) Poynter. This is really a blessing, and I hope our families can meet in the near future.
