Started this site on March 4, 2001. Rec'd information from Aunt Net. Mawmaw's father was disowned by his father for unknown reasons and didn't carry his name. She is going to let me know what his name was suppose to be instead of Blackmon.
Linda tells me that on my daddy's side, the Allen's there were some Smith's. And some are in Texas. Also on mama's side, the Cagle's came from Germany and was Kegel. Pearl Allen's side supposedly came from Ireland, the Coley's. Update as needed. Since starting this, I have found out more about Cagle's than any other so I'm going with that. We are in the lineage of Leonhart Kegel b. 1684 in Mehlingen, Germany which is near Kaiserslautern. The family tree stops at Henry Foster Cagle but his parents were Jacob Cagle b. 1805 and Eliza Robbins. Almost all of these people are buried in Cherokee Co. at Hickory Flat, which is land that has been in the family for generations.
