This is the result of a project begun at first in pieces, then grown by leaps and bounds in the last few months. Most things are accurate, but there are bound to be descepancies in some places usually due to legal documents and family recollections not exactly matching. Our ancestors are spread out across a wide area including George Oeschlein who's sons became the Exlines and Axlines, folks I'm always looking for information about. Then there's the Zartmans and Bopes (who just mysteriously start). Arthur Clough, who came to the U.S. in 1904, and the Bligh family add yet another dimesion. The Bligh's (or Bly) add the confusion of an ancestor born to a mother who had apparently married into the Bligh family, but who does not appear on any record with her husband. I can guess it was one of the two oldest sons of that family, since both disappear by the time the child appears on the first census at the age of two. We also have a long and twisting line back through the Caves, Seals and Gochenours of Page County Virginia. Finally, the enigma of them all, George Edward Gray, who also used the name Grove. My great-grandfather. Supposedly buried in a small chapel cemetary in a grave only 3 feet long. No record of his death, his military service, marriage, or anything other fact we know that happened. He was of germanic ancestry, this we know based on memories of folks who remember his accent. He also lived in New York for a time and died by about 1955. Any ideas where to look for more information on him are greatly, hugely appreciated.
