Notes for Jean (II) Daniel: p33 This Daniel line traces down through the years to 1626 when Jean Daniel deserted the church of his fathrs, accepted the Protestant faith, and was driven from his home to Germany. Here he lived as a Hugenot refugee, and it was his grandson, Adam Daniel, who came to America, where he married Barbara Kliest.Their daughter, Sophia, married Frederick Kobel, and their daughter, Salome, was the mother of Isaac Zartman. An interesting side light in this line is the fact that Magdalena Daniel Foster, wife of the Rev. William Foster, who, with our great-great-grandfather, John Christian King, founded Zion Church in Perry Co. Ohio was a sister to Sophia Daniel (and aunt of Salome Kobel Zartman).
