Notes for Florence Ellen Lynch: Obituary of Florence Schetrompf Florence Ellen Lynch Schetrompf was born in Buck Valley, PA July 27, 1874 and died at her home in Buck Valley, January 4, 1932, being aged 57 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was a daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Deneen Lynch. She was united in marriage to Albert Schetrompf, May 31, 1896 at Buck Valley and to this union five children were born, four of which are now living. She is survived by her husband, three sons: Orville of Pearre, MD, Marshall of Buck Valley, (PA); and Sarrah and Roy at home, eight grandchildren and two brothers, Luther K. Lynch of McConnellsburg, PA and W. Cecil Lynch of Buck Valley, PA. She was a devoted member of the Christian Church for the past thirty-five years, she was a loving wife and mother, being devoted to her home and family, she was well known and her many friends will sadly miss her kindness and hospitality which was always present in the home. Her death came suddenly after a short illness of but 11 hours. Mrs. Schetrompf was at her duties getting dinner for her family and friends present when struck with a stroke of apoplexy about three o'clock and medical aid was summoned immediately but death came at one AM. Funeral services were held at the home and M. E. Church on Wednesday afternoon, January 6, in charge of Rev. Henry May and interment was made in the family plot adjoining the church. One of the largest crowds ever assembled at a funeral service was present even if the weather conditions were inclement. Beautiful floral tributes were presented. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: George Schetrompf, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schetrompf, Mrs. Chas. Schetrompf, Ralph Schetrompf, and Don Hougkof, New Castle, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schetrompf, Mr. and Mrs. Conda Shipley of Lancaster, PA.
