John Barton Lynch (son of Anthony Lynch and Mary Barton)⁴⁶⁹ was born 11 May 1793 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD, USA⁴⁶⁹, and died 23 Apr 1885 in Belfast Township, Fulton County, Pa.. He married Mary Margaret Sipes on 01 Oct 1818 in Bedford County, PA, daughter of Jacob Sr. Sipes and Anna Rosina Mertz.

BIOGRAPHY: "REFN135
Served in the Maryland / Baltimore militia during the War of 1812. He was in Ft. McHenry during the British bombardment of the fort and received a head wound that may have caused some brain damage."

"He died at the home of his son, James Wesley.
A Bedford County Will probated 9-24-1821 lists him as a witness 5-29-1821."
