3/4ths of my grandparents (Grazzini, Yetsconish, and Savko)arrived in USA between 1890 and 1905 and the American genealogy is documented. The other 1/4, my paternal grandmother, Gladys Hellen Mollard, is descended from a wagoneer for General Braddock, Owen Davis, thru his daughter Hannah, and her husband Budd Gaskill. Budd and Hannah were original settlers of Freeport (1800) and also Belle Vernon, which they moved to in 1813, before moving on to Crawford Co, PA. Their son, Samuel, stayed in Freeport (later Cookstown, now Fayette City). Samuel's son, John, husband to Mary E. Maloy, was Gladys' great grandfather. This Gaskill family left Fayette City in 1866 after the death of Samuel's widow, Sarah Devenport. Of their surviving sons, John moved to Allen Twp, Washington Co, PA, William moved to Belle Vernon and then to SAndy Creek, Jackson CO, WV. James E. moved to Cloud CO., Kansas after the death of his wife Angeline in 1870. Samuel D. Gaskill pre-desceased his mother, as did Davenport Gaskill (between 1860-1866). I haven't found Davenport's widow and three sons after 1868 (mentioned in Sarah Gaskill probate papers and Orphans court documents). The only daughter, Eleanor Carr Gaskill, married DR George St Clair Hussey, and ended up in Galveston, TX after stops in Cookstown and Beaver, PA; Keokuk CO, IA; and Natchez, Mississippi.
John's children remained in the MON Valley area. George Gaskill lived in Speers (or West Belle Vernon), Sarah Elizabeth married Jefferson Baker and resided in Webster, then married Samuel Mollard and moved back to Fayette City,(Fairhope). Samuel D. Gaskill lived in Perryopolis and Lock4. Thomas Gaskill lived in Belle Vernon/Washington Twp. Mary Maloy Gaskill, John's wife, resided in Monongahela as a child, Allen Twp., Speers, Naomi, and Belle Vernon.
