Updated August 23, 2007

About Our Family Research

In the end of 1800-, five of seven sisters and brothers left the Jämtland county in Sweden and emigrated to America.
They came from a village named Högen in the Hallen-district south-west from the big lake named Storsjön.
Jämtland is a very beautiful landscape with big mountains, many lakes and a green country.

They settled up in Norway, Michigan UP.
Now relatives lives all around U.S

In 1998 we had a great family reunion in Mequon, Wi, and one in Iron Mountain, Mi, and had two more at the same places in July, 2000.

There were names as Erickson, Drevdahl, Nord, Luscombe, Franzeen, Toretta, Publow, Helander, Mueller, Englund, Gallimore, Blomgren and many others.

Hello friends and relatives!

Today it is Friday, August 11, 2000, and we are back from our vacation in U.S.
We had three great weeks there and met many beloved friends and relatives. Some new and some we met before.
The first week we spent at a music-conference at Green Lake, Wi and had, this year as well as 1998, a marvellous time with music, relationship, swimming, walks, birds, squirrels and many other things.
The second week we had two reunions; one in Iron Mountain at Michigan UP, and one in Mequon, Wisconsin.
In Iron Mountain we were 37 people and in Mequon about 40.
Bouth of them were wonderful meetings and we are impressed that some of you took your time and travelled from far-away to meet us.
We thank you from our hearts. That ment a lot to us.

The third week we spent with shopping and looking around in the surroundings of Milwaukee.

We say thank you to Bruce and Beulah who opened their house for us and "took care" of us and we say thank you to eachone we met, for being there for us, giving from your hearts and made our vacation to a blessed and unforgettable time.

Friendship is one of the greatest gifts of life.

We love you!

I}ll be back!

Charlie

But, there are still some relatives I havn}t found.

1. Anders (Andrew) Erickson, taylor, he was murdered during a robbery some times around 1890-1900.
Probably around Chicago where his twin-brother Eric lived and worked as a taylor as well.
From photos we have got, they were always together.

The family got the information because he had their addresses in his wallet. I don}t know where he was murdered.

2. Charles/Carl Nord, shoemaker in Minneapolis, died 1949.
His Swedish name was Carl/Karl Wictor Svensson, he was born in Östra Boda, Sillerud, Värmland, Sweden at April 16 1874.

August 2005.
I am happy to informe you, he is not longer a missing person!
After years of searching, his relatives found this website and contakted me.
A big "Thank you" to Tom Jackson!
This is great!!

You may send e-mails any way!

The information on this side will be changed now and then so keep your eyes open.

We keep in tuch!

This summer has been hot in the beginning then blended with all kind of weathers.
In the end of July and in the beginning of August, my son Martin and I went up north to Dalarna, Harjedalen and Jamtland and had a nice time together. You will find some new pics below.
One of the pics is " From the mountain in Kaxas", the file is a little to big for this site, but you can see it good enough to understand how beautiful Jamltand is.
Later this month my daugther Annika will get married and hopefully i will have som pics from the wedding to show you in the beginning of Sep.
Take care!

Time passes fast!
Today I have put some new pictures to the site.
Last week the snow still was deep outside, but suddenly we got some warm winds and rain, and after just a few days the winter was gone.
Now the birds are trittering again and we can feel the spring is comming on.
I wish you all a nice and happy spring!
