Notes for Jacob Maynor: A deed showing the sale of land by Jacob to Henry Maynor, presumably his brother, indicates that they were both living in Bertie County, North Carolina, in 1739. Deeds and other records show that Jacob and Abigail were living in Onslow County by 1780.
That Jacob is the link between John (Jacob's father) and Henry (Jacob's son?) is an educated guess. It's possible that Henry was instead the son of Henry, Jacob's brother. Among the reasons for guessing that Henry was Jacob's son rather than Henry's son is that, according to the Revolutionary War pension records for North Carolina, Henry served a term "in the place of his brother Jacob Maynor." The only Jacob appearing in records of the time was the son of Jacob and Abigail.
Children of Jacob Maynor and Abigail are:
+Henry Maynor, b. Abt. 1764233, d. 03 Jul 1838, Harris County, Georgia234.
