The main roots of my family in Decatur County, TN are Jones/Baker/Wright/Yates. My father was a Jones and Mother was a Baker. My paternal grandmother was a Wright and maternal grandmother was a Yates. Research into my roots began about 1996 when, using just one name from my father's family, I placed a query on a Collin County, Texas site. An answer came all the way from Rhode Island and from there a well kept record in a family Bible revealed names and dates for all ten children of my great-great grandparents (Matthew and Anna [Hinson]Jones), including my great grandfather Carrol Vincent Jones, or "Rev. T" as he was known in later years. Matthew and Anna came from Anson County, NC to Henderson County, TN in about 1829. Who their parents were has not yet been proven.
