The Family of Robert L. Grigsby

Updated February 18, 2001

About Our Family Research

I have two aunts who have done a lot of research regarding our ancestors. Unfortunately, that information isn't available to me so I am starting my own research. When i receive some input from them, this will be a lot easier. My Aunt Elva is in her 80's now and my Aunt Lois is very busy so we have not been able to share information. I am determined to trace my family tree on my Dad's side, the Grigsbys of Texas and on my Mom's side, the Whites of Texas and Georgia.

The earliest connection I have found on the Grigsby side is a John Grigsby who came to the states from England in about 16 43-50 and resided in somewhere in the area of Virginia. He married a Jane Prosser and they had five children. One of these, William Grigsby is the branch of the family tree I believe (so far) from which I have decended. My grand father, Robert Lee Grigsby married Bessie Mae Pierce. I beleive his parents were William Grigsby who Married a Marthat Martindale (?) and I have possible located information about her parents but nothing about the parents of William Grigsby. On my mom's side I can go back to great-great grandparents and that is it so far. They are Ford Stone and Lou Green.

I have some other leads and will begin those shortly but for now, that is all that I have.
