We believe that my Mother's people originated in Ireland. I now believe that the first person to come over was Abraham Dillo but we haven'r proven that yet. He had a son named Abraham from Wytheville, VA. and we think he was part of the equation but we haven't proven that yet. Also, we believe he had a son named James who is part of the family line. We haven't proven that but the next one William Patton Dillow we believe we have proven and then my Grandfather, James Henry Dillow, who died in 1949. This is the essence of our search at the present time to trace back to the original Dillow, or whatever the name may be, since there were Dillards, Dills, Dillows. etc. along the way. So far we have proven that my great grandfater is part of the family and we know tht Abraham Dillow married Elizabeth "Betsy" steele and that they lived on Big Walker Mountain in Bland County and this is only a sort ways from my home. We have read that his father has probably the same name as he does but we know practically noting about him.
