My family are decedents of Daniel Gruhlke and Wetelmine (Wilhelmina) Tietz Gruhlkey both of Lobsens, Posen, Prussia. Daniel and Wilhelmina immigrated from Prussia on 24 Jun 1859, with their children: Henry C.O. (Heinrich) Gruhlke, Daniel Gruhlke, Johan Herman Gruhlke, Augustus Charles Gruhlke, Wilhelmena Pauline Louise Gruhlke, Amalie "Mollie" Gruhlke. Louisa Gruhlke and Albert Gruhlke were born after the family moved to Pulaski County Indiana. I am the great-great granddaughter of Wilhelmina and Daniel. My grandfather, William Henry Gruhlke, added the "Y" to the name in an attempt to Americanize it (he liked to see flourish of the y on the end). The decedents of William Henry Gruhlkey host a Gruhlkey Family Reunion in Adrian, TX every Saturday before Easter. Any and all decedents of Wilhelmina and Danial Gruhlkey are welcome. It is a country pot luck affair. If you are interested in the family or the reunion you can contact me, Martha (Marci) Gruhlkey at mgruhkey@amaonline.com, or my sister Linda Gruhlkey Pond at Pondatart@aol.com.
