I have extensive family files all the way back to the 16th century on my wife's side of the family but I am in desparate need for any information on the my side of the Family. This is what I know which may not all be correct: my great grandfather Julius Grubba came to America in the late 1800's. He settled in Detroit, Michigan. He was married to a Martha Burkowski. They had one son John Joseph Grubba. They came from Hamburg or Danzig area in Germany. Joseph Grubba eventually married Ethellyn Brighton. they had two children John Herbert Grubba (my father) and Martha Viola Grubba. Please check my family tree file for more info. It appears that our name has gone under alot of changes and is linked to any of the following: Grubb, Gruba, Grubbe or Grube. Other names included in our family history are: Reardon, Chapel, Tarr, Brewster, Davis, Brighton, and Adamcyzk.
