During the 1950's and 1960's several people were writing to each other to share research on the Swan family of Knox County. Some of this is in the files of researcher, Roscoe Carlisle D'Armand, located in the SAR collection housed in the East Tennessee Historical Building, Knoxville, Tennessee and in the Family Files in the McClung Collection. Another Swan descendent and I added to this earlier research using Knox County,TN and Sumner County,KS records.
The Russell family was researched for inclusion in the book, "First Families of Tennessee".
The Watt family information came from Rev. Floyd Watt's book, "James and Sally Vance Watt and Their Descendents" and from Knox County records.
The Fox family information came from my mother and the book, "Southern Pioneer Families: The Descendents of John Herrell, SR. and John Fox, SR." by J.C.F. Herrell and from Knox County records.
