Notes for Lyman Joseph Stansbury: In the 1870 census, Octavia SAVOIE lived with her parents in Ward 2, Iberia Ph., and her father Emile's occupation was listed as a farmer.
Two of Octavia SAVOIE's sisters married into the DOTY family, Marie Ophelia SAVOIE OB72) married Edward EDGERLY (#26), and Eugenie SAVOIE OB80) married Henry Baptiste "Henderson" DOTY (#22). Edward EDGERLY, Henderson DOTY and Lyman Joseph STANSBURY were first cousins. See Appendix A for more information on the BOREL family.
In the 1880 census, Lyman, Octavia and their son lived in Ward 2, St. Mary Ph., and Lyman's occupation was listed as a laborer.
In the 1900 and 1910 census, Lyman and his family lived in Ward 4, St. Mary Ph. Lyman's occupation was listed as a farmer in both 1900 and 1910. Also the 1910 census lists Lyman's son, Albert's occupation as a house painter, and son Lyman, Jr.'s occupation as a laborer - odd jobs.
The 1900 census lists Octavia as the mother of 11 children with 8 living, and the 1910 census lists her as the mother of 14 children with 10 living. Records have been located for only 11 children. The other children probably died at birth or a very young age.
