Includes NotesNotes for Annie Caroline Cora Haydel:
In the 1880 census, Annie lived with her parents in Ward 5, St. Mary Ph. Her father, Ameson HAYDEL's occupation was listed as a farmer.

An excellent article on Annie HAYDEL's mother's family, the RENTROP family, is "The Rentrops and Their Ferry" by William I. SHINN, Attakapas Gazette (Summer 1988). The article contains a wealth of historical information an the RENTROP's ferry operations in the early 1800's, as well as genealogical information on the RENTROP family. The article is well researched and contains many references.

The HAYDEL family is a large Louisiana family. Various spellings of the name are HEIDEL and AYDEL. The progenitor of the Louisiana HAYDEL family was Ambrose HAYDEL, who married Anna Marguerite SCHAF, and settled on the German Coast (presently St. John Baptist Parish) in the 1720's.

I have done a considerable amount of research on the HAYDEL and RENTROP families. I welcome correspondence from interested researchers on these families..
