In 1931, Homer DOTY and his daughter, Flossielee, who was 12 years old, were baptized into the Protestant faith at the First Christian Church in Monroe, Ouachita Ph., LA.
After Homer and Edith were married, they moved to Monroe, LA., where Homer was employed by the Railway Express Company for 22 years. About 1940, the family moved to Lake Charles, LA., where Homer worked for the Mathieson Alkali Works, Inc. in their power plant. Homer then retired a second time and went into business for himself, owning and running a Cities Service gas station in Lake Charles until four months before he died.
Homer and Edith celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on 20 September 1967. When They passed away they both are buried in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA.
