At this writing, the Haase name has been researched from Warren G. Haase, through his father (Walter H. Haase), to his Grandfather John (Johan?) Julius Haase. John J. Haase was born on 5-19-1880, in Thorn, West Prussia, Germany. This town is now Torun, Poland. Little is currently known about John J. Haase's parents other than their names, Johan Haase and Julienia Ann Behnke. John J. Haase had four siblings Anna Haase (birth and death dates unknown, Married "Hintz" and had at least one child named Luzie), Ida Juliena Haase DOB 7-4-1860, DOD Oct. 1942, Married Carl Henry Retzke 7-15-1886. The Retzke's has 14 children. Anne Martha Haase (birth and death dates unknown, Marrital status unknown)and Maximillian Haase (birth and death dates unknown, Marrital status unknown). John Julius Haase emigrated to the USA, landing at Ellis Island 9-8-1903. The ship was the "Deutschland" leaving from Cuxhaven, Hamburg. John's sponsor is unknown, as is his travel from New York to Chicago, Illinois. In 6-3-1907 he married Clara nee Grochowske in Chicago, IL. They had three children; Walter Henry Haase (5-29-1909 to 2-10-1999) Arnold (5-9-1914 to 1-7-1997) and Gladys (3-29-1916 to 3-1-1939).
