Bigby/Jones and Hackney/Ray Joining

About Our Family Research

I am currently attempting to trace my husbands line(Hackney/Ray)
and it has become one big constant brick wall. It is amazing how many divorces and separations can appear in one family line. There is one Grandparent that has been particularly elusive. Her name was Ilba(?sp)Chinnaberry(sp?) and she was only two generations back but none of the family can remember for sure how to spell her name. She was born in Tn. in ca. 1880 but was said to speak very little English. She was German I believe. If this information rings any bells, Please contact me. My Bigby/Jones line is less elusive, however, I do have one great grandfather, J.A. Stuart that has never been dated. He was from Va. and the family story is that he was killed in a fall from a horse about 1900 in Van Zant Co. Texas while working on a ranch. No grave or any other information has ever turned up. This was my grandmother's grandfather so he should be fairly easy to locate. It is amazing how well some of our ancestors can disappear and hide. Thanks
