I have been doing research of our family for 2yr. and have done very well. The only one that has stumped me is Parker Rhyason.
We know that he was born in Utica Oneida, New York, USA on May 18,1854-55?. We know that he was raised by a family by the name of Cottrell because his mother died shortly after he was born. We have been unable to find the name of his Mother and Father.
His father died on the boat coming over to the USA. They sailed from England but they were of Irish & Wales decent. They also had a son by the name of William that was suppose to be about 5yrs. when they came to the USA.We know that he changed his name
when he found out that he was not a Cottrell so they could not find him. We have no last name to be able to look for his Dad or Mom. He came to Bawlf Alberta Canada in 1902 with his wife
Julia and family from Oklahoma.
We had a Rhyason Reunion in Aug.4-5-6,2001 in Kelowna British Columbia, Canada . We hope to have another in 2003 in Alberta .
There was 110 Decendents that were there.
Also researching other Family names, BLACKLEDGE-HIGDON-HAENSCHKE.
