Douglas M. Haggarty of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada Updated November 9, 2000
About Our Family Research
The Haggarty family as I know it as of December 27, 1999 originated in Scotland. The towns of Galston, Glasgow and Pebbles are common to the Haggarty family as I know it. My Father, Thomas left a small town of Galston, Scotland in the late 1940's to sail to Canada where he resided in a town of Ste Therse in the province of Quebec. Thomas married in 1952 to Betty Morris, of whom her mother was named Beatice, her father Jack, and a brother Earl who studied at McGill University in Montreal to become a Doctor. Thomas first worked at a carpet factory named BMK. He then worked at Trans Canada Airlines, known now as Air Canada for 32 years, retiring in 1982. Thomas Haggarty has 2 children, Douglas age 45 and a daughter, Annelise aged 42.
