I am searching for information on William Dowding, Father of Lewis Dowding. William Dowding was Born England along with his wife Harriett Dowding nee Reynolds. Lewis Dowding was born May 6,1871 in Manchester, England, died June 25,1930 in Providence, Rhode Island. He married Adella J Chapman b. November 23,1871 in Rockville, Connecticut, died May 22,1948 in Providence, Rhode Island. They had six children Minerva, Arthur, Charles, Clara, Frank and Edna. According to cencus records Lewis came to the United States in 1880, but I can find no record of William in the U.S.

This is a photo of Lewis Dowding, son of William and Harriett Dowding nee Reynolds, the first of the Dowdings to come to America from England. He was born May 6, 1871 in Manchester, England and died June 25, 1930 in Providence Rhode Island. He is buried in North End Burial Ground in Providence, Rhode Island. Lewis was married to Adella J Chapman of Rockville, Connecticut. He came to America in 1880, I am still searching for the person with whom he made the voyage.
