I am researching the George Tiller family and their allied cousins in Virginia. George was born in Spotsylvania Co
Va in 1785 and married to the greatgrandtr of John Layne
of Goochland Co in 1810 by name of Susannah Layne. By
then John Layne's property was noted to be in Amherst co.
But his property did not change only the county lines
changed from Goochland to Albemarle then Amherst and
finally we discovered that today it actually lies in
Nelson Co.
