The Descendants of John Burgess of Staffordshire, England
I have been researching the origins of my mother's family tree
(Burgess) in a serious manner for 4 years now, beginning in 2005.
This had actually started out to be the Cooke Family tree but as it turned out, that line could only be traced back to the mid 1800's. I then turned from Arthur Cooke to his wife Carrie Burgess and her ancestors.
I have managed to trace back to as far as John Burgess and his wife Mary Woodnall who wed in 1636 in Staffordshire, England. Fourteen generations comprise the span of time from John Burgess down to his most recently born modern-day descendants in 2008.
I have been printing up and sending out hardcopies of this Family Tree slowly but surely to many of my relatives who have shown an interest. However, that method is very slow due to long periods of time when I do not have ink and paper supplies. My idea of putting this Family Tree online here is that in this way I hope that the time being taken to spread the knowledge throughout the family may thus be shortened. All can enjoy seeing it sooner than I can ever hope to print up and send out all the necessary hardcopies. Perhaps you will be able to even run off your own hardcopies from this site ? That... I am not sure of. At least you can come here to visit the information, if nothing else. Just navigate around the site here and click on the various topics.
