I have just recently began working on my family tree.My father's name is Sidney Winston Harrell,my mother's name is El Louie Johnston. The main reason for my search is the fact that I know very little about my father's family. My father was an only child born in 1916. His Mother died the year my Mother was born. The only link I had with my Father's family was a Family Bible he had in a trunk for years. As a child I had no interest in the family information that was in the Family Bible. After my Father died in 1975 I went to his house to find it had been broken in to and all the old furniture and of course the old family trunks had been stolen. Therefor the wealth of Family information that was in those trunks and in the "Family Bible" are now lost to me. The burglars even stole my Grandmother Harrell's picture off the living room wall {it was framed in an old fashion oval oak frame}. Most of the contents of the trunks were just keepsakes that my father and his mother had collected over the years and of little importance to anyone else. My Mother's family has family reunions every year on "Mother's Day" in Hernando, Ms. My Mother comes from a large family therefore I have quite a bit of information for my family tree on her side. All I know at this time about my Father's family is that his mother was B.F. McIntosh MD's daughter of Hernando,Ms and I have her brother's and sister's birth and death info. I am hoping to fill in more of my Father's family information in the future.......HARRELL.
