About Our Family Research
We are researching family German origins. Great-great-grandfather was August Blank, born January 15, 1832 in Mecklenburg, Germany. Came to US at age 22 and passed away in LaPorte, Indiana January 1, 1911. Also interested in finding information on another great-grandfather, Elijah W. Shepherd who served with the Indiana Infantry in the Civil War.
