The Calvin and Joan (Taube) Hargis Family

The Hargis family was originally in Denmark. One of its members departed to Normandy France and surname became Harguess. Later about 1606 Louis and Louise Harguess immigrated to England. Surnames include Harges & Hargase. In England George Hargase II was transported to Virginia in America in 1642. Two of his sons William & Thomas moved to Charles County, Maryland to own & operate a Plantation called "Hargis Hope". The Hargis story starts with them.
