My Husband Gary and I have been around this part of the country since we were born in the early 1940s. Surnames in our family histories are Harmon, Fryers/Friars, Walker, Stout,Nickert,Gardner,McBride,Engel,Westbrook, and others. We started our research after finding a copy of the HARMON Genealogy by Artemus Harmon a few years ago.After finding our ancestors in that book, we took a trip starting in Michigan and followed their path backwards to the ocean where they came in 1635 from England. Haven't really done any research before 1635. There are still a lot of 1800s information to get. The Fryers/Friars family histories were started by Ernest FRIARs in New Brunswick, and we have done some follow ups but have a lot more to go on that family. The WALKER family search was started by Marian Peebles, and is being continued on by many other people including us,all working together. There are usually WALKER, Nickert, and HARMON reunions during the summer months annually.
