We have just begun in recent months to research our families. This includes the surnames: Reese, Usher,Murphy, Tetreault on my side in the northeast and Crowley & Harvey on my husbands side in the south. Interestingly ( and frustrating) both my husband's paternal grandfather and my paternal grandfather changed their names in their early teens/twenties (1890's-l900's). This is proving to be quite a challenge! We would appreciate any tips or advice and would love to hear from anyone researching similar surnames.
