CROSSLAND, BOWERS, GRIMES, CHIEF WILLIAM ANDERSON, EXENDINE, OXENDINE, HARMON, EUKER, KECK, STEGALL, BURNETT, HART, FAIRMAN, LOGSDON
These are some of the surnames of our families that I am researching. My mother, Jo Evelyn Keck Crossland, and I have been doing research for many years. My husband is now getting into research. We have just recently started genealogy workshops at Miami Public Library.
I am a decendant of Chief William Anderson of the Delaware Tribe. I also have Cherokee blood through James Daniel Harmon who married Polly "Bleeding Heart" Euker in 1814 in Rowan Co.,NC. I am still trying to prove my Indian heritage, and welcome any information.
My husband's family of Harts came from Cross Timber, Hickory Co., Missouri. For many years they had the Hart's Reunion in Creighton, Missouri where his aunt and uncle, Pearl and Fred Dickey lived.

- Darrell and Cynthia Hart Wedding Day (14 KB)
We got married Dec 5, 1969 at my parents, John and Jo Crossland's house in Treece, Kansas. We didn't have a fancy wedding, but it was standing room only. My grandparents, Leora and Lester Koger signed as our witnesses. Darrell's brother George was his best man.
- Jo Evelyn Keck Crossland as a child (14 KB)
Mom thinks she was four or five years old when this was taken. This is one of the only two photos of my mother as a child that I know of.
- This is me, Cindy Crossland (47 KB)
Taken at Grandma's house, I believe at Treece, Kansas. This is the only baby picture of me I have ever seen.
- My father John William Crossland's baby pic (14 KB)
Dad was born Sept 22, 1925 in Commerce, Oklahoma. His parents were Albert Wesley Crossland born 29 Jan 1892, and Mada Leora Bowers born 30 Oct 1907.
