The Whites and Childresses of Caldwell County, Kentucky and the Harkins and Dukes of Muhlenburg County, Kentucky are the feature of this work. Some efforts have been made to compile the family history of each of these but a great deal remains to yet be done. One of the purposes of this work is to provide for grandchildren a history of the wonderful folks from whence they came and to interest them in continuing this work well into the future. And for them to more fully realize what a contribution the lives of their ancestors have made in making today's world a better place for them to work, live, love, and share in their lives and in the lives of others. Christmas celebration for the year 2000 was the Christmas cruise of the Harkins family where all twelve of them spent four days and five nights in the Caribbean having a wonderful time together and really appreciating all the good blessings that a loving family can enjoy.
