a cousin did some research a few years back, but she was a distant cousin, so a lot of what she discovered didn't apply to me or my family. i know my father's family came to missouri from indiana and kentucky(although some went on to kansas). on my mother's side, her father's side was from Illinois and her mother's side had came from Canada to Illinois with a detour via Wisconsin. i have always been interested in this, but i hope to find more than just names and dates, i hope to get a feel for my ancestors. people have often said that i am stubborn, opinionated, and not afraid to speak my mind. robert sellens, a paternal great, great grandfather of mine, has been described the very same way. he was also a short, barrel-chested man, which pretty well describes me also. i hope to find out about my ancestors as people, not just names.
