The following is the obituary of William Lee Miller:
"On the 6th day of July, in Bell Co., Texas W. L. Miller quietly passed away. Brother W. L. Miller was a of [sic] Lee R. and marthy [sic] Franklin Miller. He was born May 6th 1844, in Henry Co., Ala., where he remained until 1865. He then moved to Texas and was married Sept. 28 1872 to Nancy Rebecca Pitts. He professed a hope in Christ in 1861. And united with the Primitive Baptist church in April 1881, and was baptized by Elder Halcomb in Panola County Texas. Brother Miller lived a very consistant member of the church, and was held in high esteem as an orderly baptist, and a first class citizen. Brother Miller left a devoted wife, and seven children to mourn his loss, and a large number of Baptist and friends are made to feel sad in the loss of brother Miller. But while all of that is true, we feel prepared to say that our great loss, was his great gain. Many words might be writien [sic] to speak of a so noble man as brother W. L. Miller. May the God of all good be with the bereaved ones. His funeral is to be attended on 1st Sunday in Oct. next, This Aug. 4th 1898.
W.G.
P.S. The funeral of Brother Miller is to be at Little Flock church three miles east of Temple Texas. W.G."
