The following is the obituary of Nancy Rebecca Pitts:
"Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Miller, 95, at the Primitive Baptist church. Mrs. Miller died Tuesday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the Palms Nursing Home in Beaumont. Mrs. Miller was born in Alabama and was married to the late William Lee Miller on September 18, 1872, at Carthage, Texas. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and was moved to Beaumont about 10 days ago from San Angelo, Texas. Services were conducted by Elder Woodrow Wilson of Vidor, Texas. Burial was in Block cemetery in Port Neches under the direction of Sheffield Funeral Home of this city. She is survived by three sons, William Reeves Miller, Beckville, Texas, Richard Hardy Miller and Elias Field Miller, both of Port Neches; tow [sic] daughters, Mrs. Mary Owen of Goodlet, Texas, and Mrs. Lydia Poss of Center, Texas; 25 grandchildren, 34 great-granchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons: Eddie Lee Miller, R. F. Poss, James Lowell Poss, Arley Guess, Comer Poss and Everett Holmes".
