Notes for Lorine Eula Williams: Lorine was born in Reids, LA. The town is now known as Pitkin. Her middle name was taken from a good friend of the family, Eula Gay. She attended Black Jack School through the fifth grade and then attended Fairview High School. She graduated High School in 1933.
There were many Saturday nights when the family loaded up the horse-drawn wagon and went over to one of her uncle's houses for a dance. Most of her uncles played guitars or fiddles. Some also played the piano. All of their cousins and friends would come out for the dance. Afterwards, during the winter months, being sleepy and cold they would tie the reins to the wagon and cover up with quilts. When the horse stopped, they knew they were home.
After High School she moved to Texas. There she lived with her sister Fannie and attended Beauty School to become a beautician. She worked as a beautician until her daughter Nancy was born in 1939. She quit work to be a homemaker.
