The earliest mention of Luke Farque that we find is in a will in Worcester Co., Maryland dated 5 August 1773 in which he is listed along with others in a list of people owing money to this particular person.
Most researchers of the Farque name seemed to feel that it was a German name, including myself, until the last few months when I began corresponding via E-Mail, with Dominique Farque in France. He says that the name is a French name and originates along the French Alps. Time will give us more information on this, I hope
