The lineage of Robert P. Hatfield, born Feb 18, 1974

Updated April 18, 2003

About Our Family Research

I began my search several weeks ago on this and other sites. Before long, I had a direct lineage dating back to 1600.

My father's name was Wade Hatfield, Sr. He married Eleanor Winona Heide in 1950.

My paternal grandfather was Albert M. (Ab) Hatfield. His father, Thomas W. Hatfield, jr., was a first-cousin of Devil Anse Hatfield.

  • Me and my girl!!! (42 KB)
This photo, taken Christmas 2000, shows me and my fiance Stacey
  • Great grandparents and grandmother (50 KB)
L-R: Mary Ann Allison Hatfield(I think), Thomas W. (Doc) Hatfield, and Zetta Hatfield. Zetta was my grandmother, the only one in the photo I ever actually met. She married Thomas and Mary's son Albert (Ab). This photo was probably taken sometime in the 1940s, as Doc died in 48.
  • Thomas W. (Doc) Hatfield (73 KB)
This photo of Doc appeared in the first book written about Gilbert, WV. There's also a photo on his headstone at Hatfield cemetary, Sharon Heights, WV... near Gilbert. The first time I saw that photo, I was amazed at how much he looked like my father and grandfather, as well as his first cousin, Devil Anse.... just needed the beard!
  • Elmer Heide (100 KB)
A photo of my maternal grandfather... the handwriting is my mother's
  • Mr. Kline (18 KB)
Believe it or not, but I don't even know the first names of my maternal grandmother's parents. But here they are...
  • Mrs. Kline (17 KB)
All I can remember is they were German immigrants... that really narrows it down, huh?

Thanks to Lee Belcher for providing this "big list," which includes a very extensive family tree. Ever since I received the list, I've been adding and correcting errors to my "branch" at every opportunity.
