Maria Kataja born in Vimpeli, Finland on April 3rd, 1847
emigrated to America with her children.

On July 3rd, 1900 they alighted from the train at old Clifford,
just east of Brantwood in Wisconsin.

Her Direct decendents established farm homes in the wilderness
that was northern Wisconsin at that time, and became a part of
history of that area. The were Mr. & Mrs. Matti Pokela, Mr. &
Mrs, August Kanervikko, Mr. & Mrs, Alex Joki, Mr. & Mrs. Jacob
Gustafson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Manty, Mr. & Mrs. Gust Anderson and Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Isojoki.
