We are researching James Y. Briggs b.1805 NC? or TN married Margaret Shockley in TN then came by foot to Gasconade Co. MO back to TN then returned to Pulaski,Maries, Phelps Co's in MO where he died during the civil war in 1864. Burried in Rolla cemetery in Phelps Co. MO.Any help with this family history is greatly appreciated. We are stuck at James Y. can't find his father.
