Edward H. Abadie,Jr. died on December 19, 1999 and was buried at Mt. Olivett Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Have been searching for any family members since then. Edward was the son of Edward H. Abadie, Sr. and Marie Leontine Fontenot (Fontaneau). He also had one brother named August born in New Orleans on Feb. 6, 1897. His parents were married in New Orleans on July 30, 1911. Edward,Jr. was born in New Orleans on November 19, 1912.
The parents of Edward Abadie, Sr. were Adolph Abadie and Josephine Burns Mallory. They were married in New Orleans on February 24, 1880. Parents of Adolph Abadie were August Abadie and Jeannie Abadie. Have not been able to find a birth date or death date for Adolph Abadie. According to the family story Adolph was poisoned on the job for his job however there is no death cert. nor place of burial for him for the City of New Orleans. In 1897 Josephine filed for birth cert. for Edward Abadie, Jr. and August Abadie and stated that the father (Adolph) was deceased. Josephine Burns Mallory stated she was born in Mississippi and the daughter of Catharine Burns and George Mallory. Have not been able to find her on any census in Mississippi. Have no birth place nor birth date for her. The family story is that she ran away from an orphanage in Natchez, MS and married Adolph.
Without being able to find any further information about Edward, Sr.'s parents I can go no further with finding any other family members. Have not been able to find either Adolph or Josephine Abadie on any census before they were married to find any other family members or exact place of birth or date of birth.
